XNT: Object Transformation on Multi-Touch Surfaces
نویسندگان
چکیده
We present and evaluate a new object transformation technique for multi-touch surfaces. Specifying complete object transformations for a two-dimensional space requires a minimum of four degrees of freedom (DOF): two for position, one for rotation, and another for scaling. Many existing techniques for object transformation are designed to function with traditional input devices such as mice, single-touch surfaces, or stylus pens. The challenge is then to compensate for the lack of DOF’s. XNT is a new threefinger object transformation technique, designed specifically for multi-touch surface devices. It provides a natural interface for object manipulation and was experimentally found to be faster than previous techniques. ACM Classification

متن کاملEvaluation of 3D Object Manipulation on Multi-touch Surfaces Using Unconstrained Viewing Angles
Recently, considerable research has been carried out regarding threedimensional object manipulation on multi-touch surfaces. However, most current solutions were developed having in mind scenarios with a camera perpendicular to a scene axis, and cannot be easily used to manipulate threedimensional objects in unconstrained viewpoints. In this paper, we present and evaluate a set of object manipu...
متن کاملLTouchIt: LEGO Modeling on Multi-Touch Surfaces
Presently, multi-touch interactive surfaces have widespread adoption. Taking advantage of such devices, we present an interactive LEGO application, developed accordingly to an adaptation of building block metaphors and direct multi-touch manipulation. Although touch-based interaction has evolved in the past years, manipulation of 3D objects can not be used without know-how of CAD and 3D modelin...
متن کاملSpatial Authentication on Large Interactive Multi-Touch Surfaces
The exploitation of finger and hand tracking technology based on infrared light, such as FTIR, Diffused Illumination (DI) or Diffused Surface Illumination (DSI) has enabled the construction of large-scale, low-cost, interactive multi-touch surfaces. In this context, access and security problems arise if larger teams operate theses surfaces with different access rights. The team members might ha...
متن کاملMulti-Touch Surfaces: A Technical Guide
Multi-touch interaction with computationally enhanced surfaces has received considerable recent attention. Approaches to the implementation of multi-touch interaction such as Frustrated Total Internal Reflection (FTIR) and Diffused Illumination (DI) have allowed for the low cost development of such surfaces, leading to a number of technology and application innovations. Although many of these t...
